Yesterday i said that i'd have to move into the library to get all the readings done that i need to pass my exams and everyone laughed and thought i was joking. Well today i moved into the library. Jennifer and i took up residence at 9 am and didnt leave until about 3.30pm unless it was to go to class (1 hour of literacy KS1) or for me to go to my exec meeting meeting. We didnt even venture out to eat. we illegally ate junk in the library that we smuggled in. I'm telling you if i never see another stranmillis book again it'll be to soon.

The worst thing is that my whole year seem to have had the same idea so its nearly impossible to get a book thats on our reading list - you look it up on the computer and its like:

Title: "how to become an effective teacher of mental maths and place value" by P Smartypants
Total Copies: 15 copies in Main stock shelved at at 370.55
copies on loan: 15, numbers of reserves on each copy 2,
earliest date that a copy will become available for Pamela Algie 2008 the year after she graduates (hopefully).
Its ridiculous!

Consultation (not allowed out of the library) books are just as hard to get, the worst thing is that you know someone in the library has it but you dont know who - so you find yourself checking other peoples books when they are carrying/photocopying/working to see if you can get it after them to copy.

I spent all of today looking for a haylock book off consultation which is very useful for mental maths and place value. I think our maths exam is very apt this year becuase it is driving my whole year mental - and not in a how can i do this sum in my head kind of way. I was up and down to the issue desk every 20 minutes to see if it had been left back until the library lady got so fed up she said when it came in she would check it out for me and bring it down. Which she did, i photocopied it and had it back in 20 minutes.

Then if you manage to get your hands on one of the books from consultation you have to stand for a hundred hours waiting to photocopy it because there are only 2 photocopiers in the room beside the issue desk, 1 miles away in classroom resources and a colour one that when you put it into black and white it takes an age to copy.

Anyway tirade over. Sign was good fun - we had a party and played games. It was fun. Tomoorow im going to meet the priest about my RE project and also its the smog meeting becuase christmas.
