its been a wee while! what has happened? lets see - not too much!

Wednesday night at the union was the pub quiz which went well i hung out with a group of freshers which was good to get to know them.

Thursday meet with the group i will be mentoring- they seem really nice, all home students bar one, i think its good to be mentored by home students if you are home student. Halls people dont really get the whole having to travel an hour to get to stran thing or the whole feeling isolated sometimes because you feel far away from all the fun. At the start we had to play ice breaker games and none of the other mentors really had any ideas so i played i have never with them for a while - it was great fun! after that isorted out one of my mentees first problems about a timetable so i took him to see his lecturer the amazing dr beale and we got it all sorted!

Then on thursday night michael and i went out for tea and to the cinema. We went to see pride and prejudice which once we got in i realised actually wouldnt be quite a girly movie. There were about 3 men in the cinema and the rest were girls. I really enjoyed it though! I love the BBC version so i went in with my mind set that i wasnt going to like this one. But i surprised myself and loved it. Its really well shot and takes the story from a different angle than the bbc one but its good, lack of colin firth was sad but i got over it! The ending was just lovley- it made me cry, which is always a good sign in a movie. But because it was so girly i have said to michael that i will go and see whatever he wants to next time, i hope nothing too scary is being released soon..... but i suppose i'll be ok - ill just wear a hoodie and hide.

Oh and then we called up to stran for the traffic light disco for like 2 minutes just to say hi and it was dead because everyone had gone home. So glad i wasnt expected to stay!!!!

Friday - very quiet nice day off

Saturday - kids club went well. Went to lisburn with jen for some shopping before tea and the service of celebration. We drove around all of lisburn twice looking for food (i didnt want pizza which is what we ALWAYS get) but then i caved andwe went to a pizza place but it was full so went to the cineam place and had mexican which was yum and such a bargain! Then the service of celebration was good. I still find it strange that its not in uni rd methodist. I cant believe TOM was so long ago either!

Tomorrow - start back to stran and have a soul mates meeting. busy enough wee day! Must practise my sign a bit more for tuesday too!
